FRIDAY: Walking on Water: Islam and the Gospel of Jesus
WHEN: Friday 29th January (2nd Week), 7pm.
WHERE: Blue Boar Lecture Theatre, Christ Church.
The parable of Jesus with God, is as the like of Adam: He created him from dust and said to him: 'Be' and He was.
[Surah 'Al Imran: 59]
It comes as a surprise to many Christians that Jesus is one of the most venerated figures in Islam. Revered as a prophet of God and Messiah, he solely holds the honorific titles of "Word of God" and "Spirit of God" in Islamic theology. Jesus' teachings are also preserved in Islamic texts, and act as a profound source of guidance for Muslims of all walks of life.
